Train Travel Day
Time to head back to Bratislava, and my sister asked me to take pictures of trains for my nephew, so I did what any good uncle would do. As much as we wanted to stay in Bojnice longer, the weather was going to be ugly most of the day, so we made plans to return to Bratislava.
The Slovak railroad for lack of a better word is ok, but as I understand it upgrades are on the way, new train sets and such, the staff could use a lesson in being a little friendlier.
With the number of old trains in the surrounding yard, it appears to me that there may eventually be a train museum here. It would have been nice to be able to walk around the yard and check out all the old equipment. There appeared to be some old communist rolling stock hidden by buildings.

I wish I knew enough about Slovakian rolling stock to describe ll of these to you, but I don’t, so I won’t even attempt it. All these trains are in or around the Prievidza train station.

I would love to return tot the area, and spend more time in the Prievidza area, there are more small towns in the area that we would like to explore, like Kremnica and Zvolen. The countryside of the upper Nitra is gorgeous, and well worth a visit.
But for now, it’s back to Bratislava.
